Political crisis processes in Latin America do awaken the artist’s sensitivity. Alonso Cueto, the Peruvian writer, recalls the past and, in his novels, registers a historical backdrop where the stories of working class or upper class people converge. They definitively are everyday individuals undergoing personal or family experiences such as unresolved problems. Conflicts are originated from political, economic and sociocultural convulsions which are suddenly settled in the country. Unhappily the book’s characters are involved in successive violent circumstances that make them fear and panic. This document’s purpose is to approach the internal conflict unleashed in Peru according to Alonso Cueto’s trilogy of “redemption” shaped by the blue hour, the female passenger and the female traveller of the wind. Topics addressed in the three stories that are blended as story lines are the writing as a trigger for memory and the dialogue between the past and the present which holds the narrative of reconciliation.
