Mi familia: entre el sabotaje y la fluidez

In the following paper, we will comment on the play Mi familia by the Uruguayan author Carlos Liscano, taking into consideration the points of view of two authors: Asensi (2007) and Bauman (2012). Following Asensi's line, we will reflect on modeling systems and their role in the construction of the conceptualisation of family. It is essential to understand how literature is part of these modeling systems which create subjects, and that these systems will always have an ideology however naturally it is presented. In the case of the play we are working on, we observe that criticism is practiced as sabotage, as it exposes its ideology, which goes against the traditional conception of family. On the other hand, thinking from Bauman's point of view, we can see how Mi familia is a play that is fully representative of liquid Modernity, with identity as an unfinished project, without great leaders (which in the field of the family attacks the importance of the father figure), the fleetingness of achievements and defeats, the priorities in the consumer society, the desperation for instantaneousness, and the instability of bonds in the new era of disengagement.
