Caín de José Saramago: la intrínseca veleidad del poder
Keywords:
Power, Cain, Saramago, Institutionality, GodAbstract
The following article aims to articulate the work of José Saramago with postmodern theories and critiques and ponder on the effects of power, specifically from the perspective of Michel Foucault, to analyze and unveil the mechanisms that power applies throughout the Saramagian story. For this, it is essential to seek support, not only in the literary work, but also in essays and articles with an exclusive focus on it. The figure of Cain, both biblical and created by the author, becomes the backbone of this analysis; it is through the eyes of this character that the questioning of the power exercised by the all-powerful figure of the story is visualized. It is intended to take the stance of Cain, and from there, develop and reflect on the implications of power.
