This work uses the theory of the historian Reinhart Koselleck about the modern purpose of the monuments, and tries it to apply in the Chihuahua early twentieth century case. The monuments erected by the members of the Terrazas-Creel clan, at the time, fulfilled a function of remembrance and worship to military heroes of past and also, they imposed to the citizen an ideological agenda. In a nutshell, by means of three examples, it will be tried to verify that the monuments of Chihuahua justified the death of the people to whom they render cult, in favor a better tomorrow. With them established it the link and the conjugation between past and future times. From the past, the dead of a person, established the conditions of the present, and also, without it, could not think of a future.
