Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Normas para la presentación de escritos

  1. El estilo de las notas y de las citas, así como también el de la bibliografía deben seguir las normas propuestas por la Modern Language Association (MLA) en su última edición, con las especificidades mencionadas a continuación:

1.a. Las notas deben presentarse a pie de página, y las llamadas correlativas se indicarán en el espacio siguiente del vocablo precedente; si hubiese puntuación después de dicho signo, se indicarán a continuación y mediante un formato en cuerpo menor y en superíndice.

1.b. Las citas hasta cuatro líneas deben exponerse formando parte del cuerpo del texto, en letra normal y entre comillas. Las citas que excedan las cuatro líneas se desplegarán fuera del cuerpo del texto, dejando un espacio antes y después de esta, con un margen izquierdo superior y sin comillas. Inmediatamente después de cada cita debe explicitarse la referencia bibliográfica correspondiente entre paréntesis (si la bibliografía contara con un único texto del autor citado, alcanza con indicar solo el número de página).

1.c. La bibliografía debe expresarse por orden alfabético del apellido del autor, siguiendo el orden y la presentación siguiente:

Apellido, Nombre. Título del libro. Editorial, Ciudad, Año.

En el caso de artículos:

Apellido, Nombre. “Título del artículo.” Nombre de la publicación, nº, Fecha de edición, pp. (números de páginas entre que se ubica).

Se sugiere, para otras variantes, consultar el MLA Handbook (2016).

  1. No se aceptarán trabajos que no cumplan con las normas de presentación explicitadas.
